One of NimbleCal's core strengths is working reliably when you're offline. Whether you're on a flight, in a tunnel, or somewhere without service, your calendar stays usable.

What you can do offline

Everything you need for viewing your calendar works offline:

  • View all your calendars and events that are already synced to this device
  • Search and browse your existing data
  • Navigate between views (day, week, month, agenda)
  • Check event details including notes, locations, and reminders

Your data is stored locally, so it's always available. No internet required.

Editing while offline

You can create, edit, and delete events while offline (within your plan limits).

Invites need internet
Creating/editing events works offline, but sending event invites requires being online (because invite emails are sent from NimbleCal's server).

Your changes are stored locally first. When you come back online, NimbleCal syncs your encrypted updates in the background.

What happens when you reconnect

When you come back online:

  • NimbleCal syncs your offline edits across your devices

The sync happens in the background. You don't need to do anything. Just keep using your calendar normally.

Pro tip
If sync runs into trouble, NimbleCal will show a small "Sync needs attention" banner so you know it needs attention.
